Montchavin Village

 

Montchavin is a genuine alpine village, with cobbled streets and a goat-herd which provide local cheeses and milk. The milk canteens are often to be seen by the village centre and there is an unmistakable smell of goat


The Delicatessen


There is a deli (Les Tarines) at the centre of village, which sells a variety of local produce.


The Supermarket


The Superette Sherpa supermarket stocks a good range of foods and has long opening hours. It is situated at the lower entrance to the village. Fresh milk (for the English) is delivered alternate daily and gets sold out very quickly. The deli counter has Plats du Jours to take away, and you can order cheeses for fondues and raclettes. There is a fondu set in the apartment. You will need to get the lighting gel bowls which are a standard size. The Supermarket will also rent out Raclette machines.


Shops


There are a variety of shops, including ski wear, souvenirs shops and a post office. There is a bank ATM in the main village.
