Le Dos Rond (shown opposite).
The main bar in the village situated in its centre. There is a restaurant above. It is open from 8.30am to 2am, and is busy in the early evening. There is free WiFi. If you want to go down at the end of the day straight from the runs it may be a good idea to go back on the free shuttle which leaves just near the bar. Check the times though as they are not that frequent. The apartment is at Le Replat.

For the youngsters situated at the top of town near the Les Coches bubbles.
Restaurants in Montchavin Village
Le Moulin a Poivre.
Probably our favourite. A family run restaurant with Nicolas and Aude serving traditional Savoyarde cuisine. The cheese fondue (13-15 euros per person – 3 will do for 4) and the Pierre Chaude are delicious. They also do tartiflettes, pizzas and steaks. Watch out for the desert specials.

La Ferme de Ceasar.
Another nice restaurant with a traditional atmosphere. The specialities include a variant of a pierre chaude called a Brasserade (shown opposite) involving a small charcoal burner placed on the table on which you cook meats (either beef alone, chicken, beef and duck, or ostrich, kangaroo and bison!!) or melt local cheeses in small frying pans.

La Zaccota.
A pizzeria/Italian restaurant. Always busy, with a nice atmosphere and a good menu. They will do a free delivery to the apartment but you may need to order an hour or so in advance.
